Bio
Lane Mcgregor Hired as Assistant Coach for Running Backs and Special Teams.
Former MDCC punter, Lane McGregor has been added to the Trojan football coaching staff. The Pontotoc native came to Moorhead for the 2018-19 season and garnered multiple All-State Awards, and graduated in 2019 on the President's List.
He then took his punting skills to the SWAC to play for Jackson State University in 2020 under the tutelage of Head Coach Deion Sanders. The two-year starter for "Coach Prime" helped the Tigers win the SWAC Championship in back-to-back seasons. The team also played in the championship game in Atlanta. McGregor graduated from JSU with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's Degree in Exercise Science.
Head Coach Tavares Johnson Sr. understands the importance McGregor adds to his staff.
“Anytime you get a former player to come home, I always welcome that. He brings a wealth of experience too coming from the SWAC. He knows what it takes to succeed on the JUCO level,” Coach Johnson said.
