TROJAN PITCHER THROWS NO-HITTER
Moorhead, Mississippi
March 24, 2022
What does it take to throw a no-hitter? It's much easier said than done, but all in all it's really pretty simple. To achieve a no hit game, it takes really good pitching and some solid defense and a few really, really outstanding defensive plays. Interestingly enough this no hit event is always sought after but the occurrence of it happening is few and far between.
The Mississippi Delta Trojans witnessed this elusive no-hitter thrown today by their Sophomore hurler Haden Luke from Vicksburg, Mississippi. The right-hander pitched a complete 7 inning game allowing no hits with 7 strikeouts and only giving up 1 base on balls. Luke's gutty performance along with the outstanding defensive effort by the men behind him won the second game of the twin-bill 7-0 against Itawamba Community College today at The Jimmy Bellipanni Baseball Complex on the Campus of Mississippi Delta Community College. The Delta Trojans are now 4-4 in conference and 9-10 overall. The Trojans will host Hinds Community College this coming Saturday, March 26thgame times will be 1:00 and 4:00.
