Lady Trojans on a Roll
By Neshun Holmes
The Mississippi Delta Community College Women’s Basketball team continued its strong start to the season with a 77–55 win over the William Baptist University Lady Eagles JV team on November 20 at the J.T. Hall Coliseum. The Trojans set the tone early with fast-paced transitions and efficient scoring, finishing the night shooting 49.1% from the field and an impressive 47.4% from three-point range.
E’kemi Johnson delivered a standout performance, leading all scorers with 26 points while adding 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals. MDCC’s defensive pressure created several key runs throughout the game, generating turnovers that led to easy transition baskets. The bench also made a significant impact, contributing around 20 points to help secure the comfortable home victory.
The Lady Trojans improve to 5–1 on the season, picking up another win following a close 53–51 victory over Southeast Arkansas earlier in the week. Let's keep up the momentum and cheer on our Lady Trojans as they travel to face Holmes Community College on Monday, November 24.
